Central Illinois CPCU Society Student Scholarship

The Central Illinois Chapter of the CPCU Society (CICPCU) is pleased to award three $1,000 scholarships for the 2026-27 academic year.

Scholarship funds must be used for educational expenses. Scholarship checks will be made payable directly to the recipient’s university and applied to the student’s account for the spring semester.

Eligibility Requirements

Applicants must:

·        Be a sophomore or above and enrolled as a full-time undergraduate or graduate student.

·        Be majoring, minoring, or pursuing a graduate degree in business administration, insurance, risk management, actuarial science, finance, or data science/statistics related to insurance.

·        Demonstrate engagement with the insurance industry or CPCU Society through at least one of the following:

o   Completion of at least one CPCU (Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter) course exam or active pursuit of the CPCU designation

o   Participation with the Central Illinois CPCU Society Chapter

o   Participating in the chapter’s mentor/mentee program

o   Completion of or current participation in an internship within the insurance industry

o   Participation in CICPCU workshops, chapter meetings, or other chapter events

 

When completing the scholarship application form, please include:

·        Resume: Highlight relevant education and experience, leadership, accomplishments, insurance industry involvement, and career goals.

·        1-2 page personal statement: Describe your involvement with the Central Illinois CPCU Society and/or the insurance industry, including the specific skills, insights, or perspectives you have gained from those experiences. Explain your interest and career goals in the insurance profession and what distinguishes you as a candidate for this scholarship.

 

In your response, include at least one specific example that demonstrates how your involvement has shaped your goals and why that experience was meaningful to you.
